Pruning & Progress Pics.

Gday folks!

Thought I'd take this opportunity to drop in and show some recent pics of my 'project' trees - that is, my pair of fat-bottomed Angophoras. Firstly, this is the one I began in October of 2004. (For the sake of identification, I'll need to assign names to them, given that their size and form are currently very similar. I think I'll call this one 'Cletus', in the spirit of Trailer-Trash Bonsai.) The 1st couple of pics are repeats, but I've placed them all in one post for ease of viewing.

Pic 1 shows Cletus as he was when I first adopted him. Note the very legggy growth and lack of foliage near the trunk.

Pic 2 shows Cletus about 10 weeks later, with lots of re-growth after a severe prune and repot.

Pic 3 shows him as he was about 16 weeks after the 1st pic. I have pruned hard again, back to the 1st set of leaves on each branch. The arrows indicate the places on the 1st branch (LH side) and trunk leader (RH side) where dormant buds lie in waiting. Also shown is the place where I intend to chop the trunk - I left that upper portion intact so that the tree would root more easily after repotting.

Any questions or comments are appreciated.

Thanks.

FlyBri.

PS: Gday Villia - looks like a decent start there, though it's kinda hard to tell given the small pic you posted. Keep an eye on those long internodes. Do you know what species this is?
