Norway Spruce HEAVY BEND PICS! From nursery stock.. all up about 1MB
hey guys! as most of you know ive only been into bonsai for about a year now, and this is my first really heavy bending using raffia and BIG wire!
i hope it answers questions for a lot of newbies, or people that havn't done any decent bending! the trunk is about 30mm(1 1/8 inches) thick and yeah well i documented the whole thing from nursery stock to bending and pre bonsai!
ill post a new thread in a couple of days/weeks once all the little branches are wired aswell! heres the pictures! obviously you cant go too drastic or FINAL straight away, but in a few months, it should be great to finalise the shape etc before spring!
This is pretty much overall just for people who want to see raffia being used by and AMATEUR for the first time without any practice. hehe.
thank god for this forum or else i would not have about 1/1000000th the confidence i have now.
so here goes. first few pics are of a bucket of warm water, the dry raffia and about 10 minutes later how much the raffia expands in the bucket.
then a before shot of the spruce. then a prune, then into the prep.
by the way if the pics suck its because it was at about 12-3am!!!!
ive now got a few more anchor wires drilled through the plastic pot. so ill post them up tommorrow! enjoy folks!
