Well I decided to endorse a product that I feel has been wonders for me. Well actually it's three.

In my fertilizing regimen I use 4 products: Fish emulsion, Dyna-Gro, Bio-Gold, and seaweed extract.

I use the fish emulsion in a injector system that dilutes the gunk into a very weak solution and it is used 24/7/365. It is so mild that it can be used year round. Only drawback is the smell. Just like a fish processing plant in your backyard. hope you like kitty's. As for the rest of the products it goes like this. I use the bio-gold as directed at 2 cubes per 4 square inches of pot. I change this out each month. Not really change it, just add new. Every 2 weeks I add the appropriate amount of Dyna-gro to my sprayer as well as the measured amount of seaweed extract. All my plants get a foliar feeding.

The other 2 weeks I mix the same concoction of dyna-gro and seaweed extract and give a root drench in the wheelbarrow. I put about 2" of water in the wheelbarrow and add the fert. Then I submerge the plant in this for about 20 minutes. It serves double duty in perging the salts out of the pot that accumilate in the bottom of the pot from top watering. When you submerge plants, it reverses the water flow and sends the salts out the top of the soil.

I would say that the single most important fertilizer that I have used to date is the Bio-Gold. This is great stuff. It's not that expensive and works great. No smell and it doesn't seem to attract insects. If you can find this try it and you will see an improvement in your trees.

I do this whole fertilizer thing from Jan to July. I do not fertilize in Aug and Sept. This is the resting time for plants in the Northern hemisphere. They sort of shut down like a second dormacy. Thats why some people can repot in the fall, it's like a second spring.

In Oct. I begin using tomato food. Usually 0-5-5. I feed this thru Dec. then in Jan. I start all over again.

I hope this has helped answer some questions about fertilizing. This may seem like alot, but trust me there are those that do even more than this.
