That wheelbarrow full of cuttings still weren't quite mature. The plants take about 5-7 years to come to fruiting from seed in my experience. The appearance of thorns on the Princess Persimmon is a sign that the plant is reaching maturity.

However, I usually don't get fruit for a couple of years after heavy pruning on established trees, or from cuttings.
