Hi Fred,

The Princess Persimmon is Diospyros rhombifolia, native to China, (not Diospyros kaki - Japanese Persimmon) Japanese Persimmon has larger fruit and MUCH larger leaves. "Kaki" is the general word for persimmon in Japanese. Princess Persimmon is called Rouya-gaki. You can see more links here:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...-8&q=Rouya-gaki

This one has pictures of the fruit and leaves - almost actual size if you have a large monitor.

I also have had a couple of chocolate persimmons - http://www.davewilson.com/br40/br40Persimmons.html but I haven't had any fruit since cutting it back for bonsai training.

Regards,

Matt
