If you are referring to an avatar (this is just under your forum name), I believe you have to post a set number of times before it is an option. There are several different "default" avatars available, but once again I think you have to post numerous times before you can "load" a personal avatar. Maybe I'm wrong about the post requirement, but it was a requirement in the past.
