Don't worry be happy... Good advice from young Wiiiam above. We have had a different climate this year. Super hot, Then rain, rain, super cold nights warm days. The trees are very confused.But worry not for the soon coming sprig shall fix all that ails.
PS. You might take this upcoming potting season to up grade your soil mix and root arrange your acers. Good growth to you!
