I'm sure you have seen this tree at a Sei Boku show a few years ago.
Regarding the foliage, if you saw it in person, it works better in 3d than 2d. Plus, more detail wiring will be done in the spring.
All my California junipers grow vigorously. I believe it's the feeding program. My main fertilizer is Growpower 12-8-8 planting tablets that I bury just below the soil surface all year round. Also, I foliar feed occasionally and sprinkle cotton seed meal on the soil surface and water it in thoroughly. All my junipers respond well to this program.
