I agree with treebay on mica pots from Korea.Mica pots are thick and heavy.When you say "resin" do you mean plastic becuse there are thin plastic ones as well. I have also seen a thicker resin type pot on some mallsai at Target recently. They have the feel of plastic but the look of ceramic.
They are all considered training pots as far as I'm concerned. You would never have a show tree in this type of container.
I would only use one as a temporary pot. After a basically finished tree is out of its training pot you might want to use one to shape the roots in a rectangular way. This would be a good temporary use of one untill the final pot could be found.
