Pearls of wisdom

Every now and again, if one listens carefully, they will hear pearls of wisdom. Small things that will stick with you for a long time.
Last weekend at the Asheville show I was watching a demo by Randy Clark. I have seen him work on many occasions. He is always witty and informative. He has a knack of making learning a bit of fun. A good thing for a man that has a shop called The Bonsai Learning Center.;o)
Not sure how it got around to the subject of patience. It is a word that is used to describe bonsai a lot. Meticulous is another word that pops up often.
For what ever the reason these two words came up and Randy just smiled. He looked the audience straight in the eye and said,

"Patience is only required when one is doing something they do not love. A labor of love has no time limit and the work is not meticulous, it's fun."

These are not his exact words but I do think that it is the sentiment he was trying to get across. Close as I can come anyway.
Randy tried to say that this was something that was passed onto him by one of his mentors. May have been but I think it was something that came from his heart. Not a bad way of looking at things.
