Red spider mite

About a month ago I purchased a Ficus retusa, and after a week I gave it a trim, last week I discovered that some of the leaves had curled up and died I thought that it was trimming untill I looked closer, and found a tiny red spider which I dispatched and sprayed it with vegi bug spray. This did not work and the Ficus was looking a bit sick and I checked it out with a magnifying glass only to find more mites on the leaves, went out and brought the rite spray for the job, and it seems to have recovered I will spray it again in a couple of weeks to be sure.

RobyH. P.S. It pays to always check your purchases thoroughly before buying!
