Actually they usually hit north of here. Up around the aptly named Cape Fear area. Our last direct hit by a Hurricane was in 1989. That was Hugo. And yes that was more than enough.
The tropical storm Gastone came ashore here a few weeks ago. We got a crap load of rain and some winds from that. Not much damage though.
For the most part all we have gotten from all the hurricanes this season is rain. Mind you there has been a lot of that.
We might get a bit more from this storm. From what I can tell the projected path goes right over my house ;o(
But it should be a bit weaker when it gets here. Hope so anyway.
All these storms have been playing havoc with my schedule though. Seems like every time I get booked to do a workshop the area gets hit by a hurricane. So far Pensacola FL, Fort Myers FL, Mobile AL and a few places in Louisiana have been visited by bad storms just after they booked me. Beginning to think that I am some kind of jinks. Book me and get nailed ;o( |
