FWIW I've not moved peaches, but I have moved plums. They seem prone to drop all their leaves if they have any. In my case the leaves grew back in about 3 weeks but the tree appeared distressed for the whole season.

I'm moving my two plums again this year, but I'll wait until winter this time or early spring.

My plums are bonsai though.

I agree about the hard pruning, they are unbelievable - even more vigorous than chinese elm...
