If I had a lot to sift I'd do it with a stretched aluminum or steel window screen (not fiberglas). Something just a little finer would be ideal, but it would probably cost a lot more.
Repotting depends on your climate. I probably wouldn't repot azaleas now unless they had drainage problems.

The bag says Profile turface MVP.. I do not have the previous bags, but the size was approximately the same as aquarium gravel. This is MUCH smaller.
In general the azaleas do not have drainage problems, but the last month has been rain repeatedly from the tropical storms.
