Slug on Chinese Elm
I bought a Chinese Elm about a month ago from a reputable dealer. *The next day while I was cleaning up the foliage, I watched a slug ooze its way out of the pot. *Clearly, he's a goner. *My question is whether I should be worried about more? *I don't know what their life cycle is like. *I haven't *seen* any more, and the tree looks healthy. *Even though its indoors for the winter (Boston apartment - no yard), its dropped all its foliage. *At the same time, however, its pushing out new leaves, so I'm not worried about the immediate health.
Can I expect to see more slugs in the spring? *Or, was it probably a loner that crept into the pot while the tree was still at the greenhouse? *Much thanks.
