Crepe myrtles are excellent subjects for bonsai. Tough, resilient and extremely resistant to the mistakes most of us will make from time to time.
I have one that has been in a bonsai pot for over 40 years (no I did not start it)
The big thing to remember is that flowers only appear on this years wood so it will need a bit of drastic pruning every year.
Also it is a bit brittle and styling is best done by the clip and grow method.
