Close in shot. There were also some live oaks that were cheap, but again I didnt see one that really moved me. The problem with traditional nursery live oaks is that the trunks are dead straight for about the first 5 feet. Anyway, this will make a great project.
Anyone with experience on these, I would appreciate any advice.
Ron, I know you have a nice dwarf crape myrtle bonsai. How and when would I begin to work on this one. It is really root bound, roots growing by bunches out of the pot. As I stated, it is in a 30 gallon pot, so I may need a little help when I start to work the roots. When should I start cutting these branches back? How do I determine what trunks, and suckers to leave in the clump, and which ones to remove? I think keeping this a nice natural clump is the way to go.
