With time you'll develop a preference. I certainly have, although my trees range
in height (not counting the pot) from 4" up to over 3 feet. I tend to like the big
ones with fat trunks. Many of my trees in development will be in the 2.5-3 foot
range.
One factor to take into account is leaf size. If you have a tree that has leaves
that don't reduce in size, a bigger tree will be better.
