Thank you very much for your reply, but I guess these tinny worms are a little more resistant than ants. As a matter of fact, they appear when I water the tree and it seems that they don't have any problems with swimming (even more, I guess they like it),
but you never know. I am going to try your advice during the weekend and I will let you know the results.

I had an ant problem. I used many types of chemicals to get rid of them in the soil of my plants. Recently, I found completely submerging the pot in water, the ants/bugs come to the surface or drown. Those that climbed the tree were ones I blasted of
f with the water hose.
I don't know what type of creature you have in your soil, but this might work for them too.
