If this is a tree growing in the ground, it should be fine. It would have been better to cut the stub to the collar instead of flush with the trunk but............oh well. And arborists are no longer using pruning sealer because the school of thought now is that it can seal in disease but remember that sealers have been used for forever before without much noticable damage. When limbs are cut to the collar, the wound heals quicker. I have an old Jap. Maple that has withstood quite a bit of abuse over the years and, as delicate as it may look, it has survived it all. So........ditto..........sit back and relax.
