Ian,
your point is well taken and should be heeded by those who endevour to purchase ar collect trees. While at a native american demonstration I saw what appeared to be living branches on the framework to the coral entry and comming out on top of the wigwams where the poles were lashed togather. Assuming that they had some significance, I asked one of the wigwam builders and he laughed and said that the trees were felled last fall with no foliage and how was he supposed to know that they would have enough sap in them to sprout in the spring. Something to think about !!!!
