The benchtop is a unique design with some excellent properties for bonsai growing.
The grid top surface doesn't collect water or dirt, and it provides excellent ventilation for your bonsai. Professional growers have been using ventilated growing tables in greenhouses for years, but they were either made of expanded metal, wire or stainless steel, which made them very heavy and costly, and not very attractive. Who wants to grow and display their trees on stainless steel?
These new grid tops are very sturdy. They two tops used on the bench weigh about 7 lbs per each. They're made of a UV resistant material that has been treated with BIO-PRUF to resist the growth of slime or mildew.
You can even
purchase the grids separately, but I think the complete kit is a better buy.
