Hi all, i'm fairly new here, although i have been following the topics for a while as a guest. I am from Australia and am currently studying Horticulture. I am 22 and have been into bonsai for a bit over a year now and want to expand my field of knowledge before i work on any more trees. I finish my course at the end of next year (late 2003) and was considering going to Japan to maybe do an apprenticeship in bonsai.

I have a background in graphic design and its great to be able to use my skills in design i.e. aesthetics and shape, form and space in the art of bonsai. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with an apprenticeship overseas and maybe where i could get information on or advice as to where i begin.

Thanks in advance

Deece (Dave)
