Use a shallow container or slab (real or man-made) with the proportions of the tallest tree in the forest being 2/3 -> 3/4 of the length of the container, particularly in a distant view forest, OR the container length being 2/3 ->3/4 the height of the tallest tree, particularly in a near view forest

Avoid ratios close to 1:1 in container width to principal tree height as they tend to make the composition look square and uninteresting.

The considerations for the choice of finish, glazes and feet are consistent with the other general guidelines for Container selection
