Yup. Which we don't have, since we fertilize regularly, don't
we?

And just like I prefer not to waste fertilizer, I prefer (even
more!) not to waste good ale.

didn't create a more efficient way of doing it -- other than in
epiphytic plants, of course, which bonsai ain't.
