Peter, in your last comment you say Trident's take direct sunlight. I would take that with a grain of salt. In our high, dry climate that can take direct sunlight right now when it is only 50 or 60 degrees. But in August, our sun will fry them even if it is 80 degrees out.

Direct sun on a tree in the ground is real different than a maple in a pot. If you have high humidity and not too hot you may be ok but I would keep a real close eye on any browning leaves and put it in a dappled sunlight location.
