Hi Peter, If you look at the "Bonsai Talk Spring Show', the first pic I posted of the hoop stand, has the maple on it. I hope you can see the tree OK. As to your problem, You'll never know if the branches were dead before you repotted or not. You may have done nothing wrong. Anyway,, I hope you feel better now. You never know, repotting is very risky business, yet we think nothing of ripping out one of these trees and putting it into too small of a pot, in the wrong time of the year, and put it into direct sun afterwards and wonder why it did not respond flawlessly. I'v done the same thing. Not that you did all these things at one time, but I have known folks who did. If you can post a pic it would be a big help to see the structure of the tree as it is. Maybe one of us could do a virtual of the tree for some ideas.
As it is, I would let it rest the rest of the season, and concentrate on building its vigor for what lies ahead?
