3 will make a very nice broom as it grows out. It's probably not ready for a bonsai container yet, though. I made this mistake with a Ginkgo and it sets back the development quite a bit, with five years or so in a growing box and then on to a large bonsai container for awhile longer

I'm still in the bonsai container after 10 years of slow growth, and guess what? It still needs five in the five in the box that it never got!
