I would say that it all depends on what kind of trees you have. If you have junipers, I have read that they do not do so well on balanced ferts and prefer to be fed higher nitrogen fert. I am feeding mine fish emulsion, seaweed extract, coffee grounds and a 4-6-6 granular of organic fert. If you want to use the 10-10-10 as your basic fert you may be ok if you add a high nitrogen fert to the soil like the coffee grounds.
