[IBC] Bonsai Stands was RE: [IBC] China Exporter

A write up would be very interesting, especially details of joint
methods, best timber and sources of patterns.

Cheers

I don't know anything about the particular exporter, but the
stands I
bough on E Bay are fairly small and not that expnesive BUT once you pay
shipping they are close to $30 each. (Don't tell my wirfe.)
Our club made some larger stands for the raffle at BSF 2004 at a
members home shop. The basic cutting was done by one or two guys and a
group did
the final sanding, assembly and finish.
Not really a club meeting project but a good weekend club group
project.
If you don't have access to a wood shop many high schools and
community colleges have open shop nights for adults in the community. A
few guys
could do the cutting at the shop and then more members could get
together for the
sanding/assembly/finish stage.
If you want more information I will try to get our project leader
to
write up what he did.
