After I bought my trident bonsai tree, I began to suspect that it was something else due to its unusual bark striations, even though the leaves look exactly like a trident! I first suspected that it might be an amur maple, but their leaves just didn't look right, so far as I could tell. Plus, the bark wasn't the same. Then, out of the blue, someone posts this link
here and this tree's bark looks exactly like mine. It's the only other one I'd ever seen. So, please help me ID it. The site is in Japanese, so I can't tell you what kind of tree it is. I need a translator, or someone who's really good with bark ID. Thanks!
