Actually one on each branch.
Yes it's the same tree, I would do this here.
I would let this tree grow for a year before doing the trunk chop like discuss earlier. While it grow this summer, I would do some layer on it. (2x red lines) and keep the trunk for another tree next year.
Or maybe the layer will slow down the growth.
