I would never use a pot like that as a growing pot, and I strongly encourage you not to.

It looks like an antique by the patina. Probably at least 50 years old.

It would be a shame to have water spotting, accidental damage, frost damage or cracks further damage this pot. Anyway the drainage holes are much to small for the health of a tree.

If you insist on display a tree in it - you can use a training pot about the same size and expose it to the elements and so forth, then when you display you can switch to that pot for shows and so forth. As ornate as it is, it would be much better to enjoy it as a display piece indoors. Very few trees could compete with the design.

I am curious what you had in mind for planting in this pot anyway?
