The actual bonsai vendors can be a little spotty, with mallsai or something a little better, are the usual fare.

Just to expand a little: The "local Bonsai club" is actually the state organization, The Pennsylania Bonsai Society, and their exhibit usually features some wonderful trees. Also a great chance to find a local club! These guys are good!
I agree about the vendors. There are some very reliable ones there (Meehan's) as well as those who will tell you a juniper will love it on top of your tv.
For bonsai related vendors, you'll do better at the MidAtlantic Show in East Hanover NJ (Near Morristown) in April, but the Philly show is very much worth a visit. You can even meet Dale Cochoy there!
