yea, I've removed most of the leaves and put it under shade covering.

It's because I have this book by Peter chan and in the book he says to remove it before the winter comes so that the roots will be well established.

However, I don't see why one shouldn't remove it during late summer?

I'm not trying to be ignorant, but I would however like to know the reason for it.
