It appears to be a chinese elm of some kind. Ulmus parvifolia. You should be able to find some cultural info over at BCI Species Index A shot including the trunk might be more definitive, especially if you include something for scale. The alternate leaf pattern of the elm is distinctive.

BTW, that looks like a nice little stand, but you won't want to water it quite as often as the tree
