Shohin Trident

I purchased this trident maple from Ruben Guzman, out of Danville Cal. The tree was purchased for 75.00$. This was an incredable buy considering the trunk and considerable work over a period of at least 5 years, to bring the tree into the shape its in now. Virtually all the chop wounds are healed and can hardly be seen, except for the differance in taper.

After I bought the tree I began looking for a pot. I was not to happy with the green godess pot the she was in. I went o Bonsai Northwest to look for one of those burnished tokoname's that they sell. I found one that I fell in liove with, but after bringing my tree back in from my truck, the root spread of this trident was to large for the pot. I could have squeezed it in allright, but the roots would not have shown to their full advantage.

After scouring the show once more I was over at Mendocino Coast Bonsai talking sith Bob Shimon. I told him what I had and he asked if I had seen Sara Rayner's pots before. I have only seen pics on the net and had not actually felt one in my hands before. Well let me tell you, if you get a hold of one you will not be able to put it down. I picked one out and purchased it. I gave 56.00 dollars for the pot, but I feel that the value is there, and the pot will only increase in value over the years. I have 131.00$ in the tree and pot. I will post a pic of the tree in the new pot , just as soon as the tree pushes its first little leaves.

Best regards, Bonsaial
