Since I started the thread, I found it only fitting that I post the first project. The tree was purchased two years ago. The initial pruning was done, and the tree wired. I did nothing except let the tree grow to gain strength. In the spring of 2001, the tree was re-pruned and re-wired. It also went to two workshops with Ted Matson. Ted suggested putting a bend in the top apex portion of the tree. It was straight as an arrow there, and he felt it needed a little movement. I agreed and set about cranking a bend and subsequent twist into the top of the tree. The photo was taken at pot level, and does not do the tree justice. The first branch on the right is very full front to back, about 6 inches in diameter. I introduced some jinned complete branches and some shari on the trunk. The tree is only 9 inches tall and will pe potted into a shohin container next year. Bonsaial
