There is a whole portion of a chapter on Junipers in Colin Lewis' book where he does a case study on phoenix grafting. The title of the book is The Art of Bonsai Design and I think I bought it from Stone Lantern. I have read the book twice and it is a very good one that I highly recommend for newbies and seasoned bonsai artists alike. Good Luck! Hope this info is helpful?!
