Roots are much more interesting in view 2. View one has some obvious pruning scars and poor coiling appearance. However the development of the branching is better in view 1.

It is relatively simple to improve the character of the branching, and quite difficult if not impossible to change the fundamental character of the roots. Therefore, view #2 is the "front."

This appears to be a developing as a half-cascade.
