I just wanted to post an update to the situation here in Denver. I have subsequently learned that the class I am taking is taught by Harold Sasaki who owns Colorado Bonsai Ltd., a store in Wheatridge. I spoke to him on the phone, and he is extremely knowledgable and very nice.

A little more research showed that he was featured on HGTV as a bonsai expert, and has over 20 years of experience in bonsai cultivation and training. His store is also a nursery, I am excited to visit this weekend and check it out!

On the note of my tree, I have been getting it as much light as possible and moving it outside when it is warmer (in the 60s today!) I definitely will not be moving it outdoors this winter, but will winter harden it next time around. It looks great and just got a trimming so that I could see the branch structure. I have been doing sketches of ideas, and I will probably wire it this weekend.
