The first branch may not be necessary in the future, but it originates a little too low on the trunk (missing the apex of the curve it seems to orginate from), so that's why it seems to need to go UP to reach the right position before it comes down.

If you want a branch there, you could thread graft one through the trunk or just deal with the imperfect shape. As the tree grows, this branch may prove unnecessary, anyways.
