I have a couple of Andy's collected ponderosas and find them just great. I've just reread Dan Robinson's "Focal Point Bonsai" article from his website,
http://elandangardens.8m.com/focal.html . Dan is another great collector of ponderosa's and I think finding the focal pont for your tree is important.
I've attached a shot of my Andy tree. It's in a pot made by Nick Lenz. I've worked on it with Salvatore Liporace, Nick Lenz and Chase Rosade. They've helped me immensely, bring out the beauty of the spiral bark, movement and, as yet, limited jin.
