'tis the Season

Looks like the Christmas season is almost upon us. The signs are unmistakable. The stores are all decorated and full of things "on sale." The newspaper is a few pounds heavier with all the coupons stuffed in them.

The day after Thanksgiving is supposed to start the "official" buying season. Stores open early and close late. Lines are long. Tempers get short. The guy from the Salvation Army is just outside the door ringing that annoying bell.

Me, I have my own barometer. Four things that tell me when the Christmas season starts.
  1. The Salad Shooter commercials are on TV.
  2. This is followed by the Clapper commercial
  3. Now comes the Chia Pet commercial.
  4. and last but not least the radio stations start playing "Grandma got run over by a reindeer"
So far, only one of these things that hasn't happened. The Clapper commercial hasn't made its appearance. I expect that won't happen till the middle of next week. But it will come. This year only the order of the events has changed.

In 25 days a fat guy will come shinnying down the chimney. Hopefully he is there to leave some presents and not a burglar bent on taking them. Just remember, the fat guy without the mask is Santa. Don't shoot him. He gets the cookies.;o)

What does this have to do with bonsai? Nothing, I was just getting bored and thought I would share my misery with my friends. Hope you have something better to do than just read this drivel.
