here is a quick paintgraphic of what I mean Thomas.

Option 1 has the tree brought to a more upright position, allowing a steep angle for the character branch on the right. Option 2 though has more to it for me style-wise. Introducing the slant gives a more dynamic trunk line, kept in balance by the change in angle of the character branch on the right, this si counter balanced with the left branch. The canopy consequently forms an assymetrical triangle I guess if we talk geometry.

Which would you opt for?

Whichever, I personally think the character branch is crucial to define the tree and removing it would spoil the design.
