Re: Bougainville 2 (rides again)

I know that the right way is 45 degrees, but sometimes is very difficult to maintain this angle, specially when you have to preserve some leaf.
Here in Rio the Bougies produces flowers (Bougies have not flowers, they have a modified leaf) all over the year (we do not have well defined seasons). Put them in full sun and they will be very happy. Here my trees grow in open air (varanda) with a strong wind (my pots are wrapped in the stand).

I wish my Bougie bloomed in the wintertime. Looks like it has quite a view and plenty of fresh air?

Watch your wire placement. Wire works most efficiently when it is applied at an angle of between 45 and 60 degrees to the trunk. This appears to be almost perpendicular, so you wind up using more wire and getting less benefit from it.

THere is a flash demo in the ***WIRING_FAQ*** that shows the correct angle. THe question is called "How do I apply wire..."

That looks like a really nice place to work. I would be happy to come out there and demonstrate in person and enjoy the view!

Regards,

Matt
