I don't know where you can obtain azalea material ( I won mine as a door prize at a class on azalea). But I learned in the class that El Dorado Bonsai in Placerville Calf specializes in Azalea training among other things. Tel 530-295-0200. I bet they can steer you in the right direction. See add in Bonsai Today Magazine. Stone Lantern also carries a great book on Azaleas called Floral Treasures of Japan worth reading. It explains why it can be difficult to obtain material, Import laws and propagation history.
