Hi Robin,

It would do better with full sun early in the day and perhaps some cover from the direct afternoon sun after 1PM or so, not the other way around. It should be consuming more water than this. The fact it is not suggests that there may be a problem with the roots.

Do you have this plant outdoors? A photo of the whole tree would be helpful. From what I can see, this is often how a plant in a west facing window looks after it gets burned by heat.
