It is cheaper. I don't have to do any sifting. I don't have to pay too much attention to whether or not the organic stuff is decaying. I used to use jim smiths soil mix (i dont know what is in it, pine bark turface and farfard #3 maybe). Jim talked me into using pure turface because it is cheaper. I have noticed no difference between the two.
