the black ones are actually a expensive Chinese rock. the others i'm not sure what they are but these pieces are actual comprised of many rocks cemented together! i use to think that most bonsai rocks where solid and found that way but most of the real good ones like this one are chiseled and cemented to perfection! look up some sites on Penjing try a google search and u will learn a lot about rocks.
